How to check a listing yourself

  1. Browsing from outside the US, set a US delivery address first; any ZIP will do, 10001 works. Without one Amazon fills the buy box with import and reseller offers. That is how Charlotte Tilbury, Dyson and Clinique once looked unstocked to us, when Amazon.com sold all three.
  2. Read the two lines beside Add to Cart, “Ships from” and “Sold by”. Amazon.com, or a store in the brand's own name, is the brand's stock; any other name is a reseller's.
  3. If another name is there, open “Other sellers on Amazon”. Amazon.com or the brand sometimes sells the same listing one row down.

Every link on this site goes to an offer from Amazon.com, Woot (an Amazon company), the brand's own store or Pattern, which sells for brands under contract. A listing whose buy box moves to anyone else loses its link at the next check, and gets it back when the seller changes back.
