Fake Denman vs real: what to check
- On Amazon the real thing comes from Denman's own store (“Denman Brush”). The seller is the line under Add to Cart, not the name on the listing.
- From Denman's own store (“Denman Brush”), the 3 Denman products we track cost $27.95 to $34.95 today, none of them marked down. The FTC warns that ads with big discounts on brand names can lead to a cheap fake or nothing at all: its alert.
- Once it arrives, check the batch code printed on the box and on the product: checkfresh.com decodes Denman's into a production date.
How to check who sells Denman on Amazon
- Browsing from outside the US, set a US delivery address first; any ZIP will do, 10001 works. Without one Amazon fills the buy box with import and reseller offers. That is how Charlotte Tilbury, Dyson and Clinique once looked unstocked to us, when Amazon.com sold all three.
- Read the two lines beside Add to Cart, “Ships from” and “Sold by”. For Denman you want Denman's own store (“Denman Brush”).
- If another name is there, open “Other sellers on Amazon”. Amazon.com or the brand sometimes sells the same listing one row down, at the same price or close to it.
