The luxury original: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream, $105

What matches: Both are fragrance-free, silicone-free gel-creams: water and glycerin lead both labels with caprylic/capric triglyceride close behind, carbomer sets the gel, and niacinamide is the pore and tone active in each.

What it does worse: Charlotte Tilbury adds shea butter, squalane, camellia, rosehip and sunflower oils, two peptides, beta-glucan and glyceryl glucoside; Byoma has none of those, and has ceramide NP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine with green tea instead.
